A mini-blizzard of hail, rain, and snow (i.e., all the things the US
postal service claims to deliver in spite of) hit the Boston area on
Tuesday evening. But the brutally cold downpour didn't stop a group
of high school students from holding a rally protesting the on-going
genocide in Sudan.
Students denounced Sudan's dictator General Omar al-Bashir for over a
decade of ethnic cleansing against Sudan's black African population.
They also called on Massachusetts state legislators to pass pending
legislation to divest state funds from Sudan. Here are a few
camera-phone photos of the spirited demonstrations:
Students across the country are planning a nationwide minute of silence next Thursday (March 17) at 3 p.m. to protest the Sudan genocide and stand in solidarity with its silenced victims.
