Yemenite journalist Abdulkarim al-Khaiwani is currently sitting in a prison in Sana'a for criticizing the regime of President Saleh, though he smuggled out a letter to American blogger Jane Novak appealing for outside support.
Novak has been championing the plight of Yemenite journalists arrested in a recent crackdown by Saleh - who, Novak, notes is not only the President but also the head of the judiciary in Yemen. It's good to be the dictator!
Despite overwhelming support from the blogsphere for al-Khaiwani's immediate release, a court in Sana'a has upheld the originally ruling sentencing al-Khaiwani to one year in jail. Novak notes that this means al-Khaiwani will be released in September. She wishes her colleague "Good luck!" and then savages President Saleh.

HES FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We did it. Thank you so much.
